Our Story
Sherry and Shel Larkby began selling real estate in 1978. In 1993 they opened Brokers Real Estate in a 200-square-foot office with used furniture, no employees, and a simple plan: work hard, know the market, and treat every client the way they would want to be treated.
More than three decades later, the furniture has improved, but the plan hasn't changed. Shel has since retired from active sales, and the company is still owned by Sherry and Shel together, with Sherry leading the team day to day as Broker-in-Charge. Brokers Real Estate remains independent, family-owned and locally operated. We are not a franchise, and decisions about how we serve you are made here in the Lowcountry, not at a corporate headquarters.
